170 hosps to issue health certificates for Amarnath

Jaipur: The government has identified 170 hospitals in the state to give health certificates to Amarnath yatra 2024 pilgrims.

The yatra will be held in June-August, and yatris will trek along the two routes from base camps in Baltal and Chandanwari to pay obeisance at the holy cave shrine. Since it will be a completely different geographical and weather condition, the doctors will check the health of pilgrims, including breathlessness, diabetes, lung ailments, blood disorders, asthma, high blood pressure, epilepsy, and bleeding tendencies.

The doctors authorised by the state government will appropriately evaluate the health condition of the applicant, considering the high altitude of yatra tracks, likely fall in temperatures during inclement weather, low level of oxygen in the yatra area, steep ascent at high altitude, and after careful examination of the patient, carrying out required investigations, ensure that community health centre is issued to medically fit applicants only. “The pilgrim will give a declaration about his health mentioning all questions related to his health condition,” said a health department official.

The guidelines have been issued to the doctors of 170 hospitals for issuing health certificates for Amarnathji Yatra 2024. “The authorised doctors and institutions will not issue health certificate to any applicant who is below the age of 13 years or above the age of 70 years and to any woman with a pregnancy of six weeks or more,” the guidelines stated.
