18 fall sick after eating biryani from Lucknow shop

LUCKNOW: Eighteen people, mostly children between the ages of 8 and 17, were hospitalised at Balrampur Hospital in Lucknow after experiencing food poisoning on Friday night.

The victims had all consumed biryani from a shop in old city area . Soon after, they began experiencing vomiting and loose motions, prompting their hospitalisation.

According to hospital officials, 10 of the eighteen patients exhibited mild symptoms of food-borne gastroenteritis. These patients received initial treatment and were subsequently discharged. However, the remaining eight patients displayed more severe symptoms and are still undergoing treatment at the hospital.

Chief medical superintendent NB Singh assured that the condition of all patients is stable and they are expected to be discharged soon.
