2 women arrested in Gujarat after video of garba with snakes in hand goes viral





 Two women and a girl were caught along with two others after a video was shown in Gujarat's Junagadh district on Saturday.


 The official said that all were booked under the Wildlife (Protection) Act and kept on Thursday.

 "Video viral on social media shows two women and girl holding cobras and two non-poisonous snakes, who perform traditional garba dance during the recently concluded Navratri festival", said Sunil Berwal, Deputy Forest Conservator, Junagadh  .

 He said that the event was held on 6 October at Sheel village in Junagadh district.

 Berwal said, "After the video surfaced, we investigated the incident. We booked five people, including two women and a girl. The other two are the organizers of the event and the suppliers of snakes. All of them were released on Thursday.  Arrested. "  He was produced before a local court and granted bail.

 According to him, the investigation revealed that the cobra's teeth were removed, while the other two snakes were poisonous.
