21 people died due to cyclone Amphan in kolkata

Kolkata: Super cyclone Amphan in the Bay of Bengal collided with Digha in West Bengal and Hatia Island of Bangladesh at a speed of around 190 km per hour on Wednesday, after which the storm has caused quite a devastation in this area for about 4 hours. About 12 people have died in West Bengal and Odisha due to this super cyclonic storm.

The storm between Odisha and West Bengal on Wednesday, Amphan has killed a total of 21 people, including 12 in West Bengal, 2 in Odisha and 7 in Bangladesh. After the destruction of Amphan, now a very fast rescue operation is being carried out in the affected states. In view of this, 19 teams of National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) have been deployed in West Bengal. Kolkata airport in Bengal has been flooded due to Amphan.

The NDRF said that 6 teams in South-24 Parganas, 4 teams in East Midnapore and Kolkata, 3 teams in North-24 Parganas, 1 team has been deployed in Hooghly and Howrah. Sarbananda Sonowal Government of Assam has also declared a high alert in view of Hurricane Amphan.
