23-year-old man killed over love affair in Ghugus

Chandrapur: The father and brother of a girl from Ghugus killed her lover and dumped his body in the forest. Accused Prabhudas Durve and his son Krishna surrendered before the Ghugus police on Sunday night.

The duo confessed to killing Yogesh Jadhav (23) whose body was recovered from the forest near Neeljai coal mine, around eight kilometres from Ghugus in Wani tehsil of Yavatmal.

SDPO Sushil Kuamr Naik from Wani and Sirpur police reached the crime spot in the middle of the night. After completing the initial investigation, cops sent Jadhav’s body to the rural hospital in Wani for the post mortem.

Jadhav had an affair with the daughter of Durve, who is a driver by profession. On the fateful day, Jadhav called the girl on her phone and asked her to meet him in Wani on Sunday.

Accordingly, the girl, accompanied by a relative, left for Wani in a bus. She disembarked at Chargaon phata, where she was waiting for Jadhav. After some time, Jadhav came and as the lovebirds were about to leave, the girl’s father and brother came to the spot on a bike.

The duo confronted Jadhav after which the trio headed back to Ghugus on their respective bikes. Midway, the father and son stopped Jadhav at the Naigaon bus stop an took him on their bike. Jadhav was taken deep into the forest, around half a kilometre from the road near Neeljai mine where he was thrashed and later killed. His body was thrown into the thorny bushes.

After their return, Dure and his son went to the Ghugus police station where they confessed to their crime.
