3 nabbed with 102 kg poppy husk, 3400 narcotic tablets in Fatehgarh Sahib

PATIALA: The Fatehgarh Sahib police has arrested two persons along with 1.025 quintals of poppy husk and another person with 3400 drug tablets during police checking amidst the poll code of conduct. Fatehgarh Sahib SSP Amneet Kondal said the accused were nabbed during the police checking at special check posts set up at on a tip off and when frisked the police recovered contraband in huge quantity from the accused.




The police revealed that a team headed by ASI Satwinder Singh under CIA incharge was formed as per the directions of SP (Investigation) & DSP Crime Branch who had set up a special check post at Dholan Wala Chowk Amloh. The police said that two accused identified as Onkar Singh and Bhavkhandan Singh, were brothers and have been working as truck drivers but were indulged in selling of poppy husk in the region from neighboring states. The police said that five bags of poppy husk were recovered from the driver’s cabin from the truck of the accused following which the case was registered against them at Amloh Police Station.

In another case the police team headed by SHO Mullepur police station, inspector Bhagwant Singh established a check post at GT Road near and nabbed a person and recovered 3400 drug tablets. The police added that the accused identified as Vijay Kumar alias Monu resident of Baldev Nagar Ambala was riding on a bike with a Haryana registration.
