444 women trainees join Bihar police force

Bhagalpur: Altogether 444 women trainees were inducted into the state constabulary following a passing-out parade held here on Tuesday. They will join the Government Railway Police (GRP) in Patna, Katihar, Purnia, Araria and Kishanganj districts. They are of 2018-2019 batch.

Bhagalpur DIG Vikas Vaibhav, SSP Ashish Bharti and other senior police officers attended the function.

The women constables had been imparted training in basic knowledge of law, first-aid, police behaviour, security and traffic management, soft skills besides handling weapons during the one-year stint.

“It is our responsibility to safeguard people and uphold the rule of law,” said the DIG while addressing the constables. He said the state has high expectations from the police force, especially the women police. The police forces should be sensitive to peoples’ problem as they have a greater role to play in bringing positive changes towards perception about themselves and policing, he added.

SSP Bharti said the performance of the police forces has manifold impact on the society. They also play an important role in improving the image of police administration as well as the government, he added.
