Director S Hari Uthraa , who made films like Theru Naaigal and Padithavudan Kizhithu Vidavum , is gearing up for his next, Galtha . The film, we hear, is based on true incidents. Says Hari, “There have been several reports of how animal and medical waste are being dumped near the Tamil Nadu and Kerala checkpost. These reports inspired me to write a film based on this issue. I’ve done a lot of research on the topic and will be explaining, through the film, how a village nearby suffers because of this. We’ve also got a political angle. I am sure it will make for an interesting watch.”

The film has Merku Thodarchi Malai fame Antony and newcomer Shiva Nishanth in the lead roles. Ayra (of Sagaa fame) and newbie Divya play the female leads. Appukutty, Gajaraj and Karunanidhi also play pivotal roles in the film, which has music by Jai Krish. Hari adds, “We shot in Mannargudi, Thanjavur and Kumbakonam, and are planning to release the film by the year end.”
