AGRA: A youth, claiming to be an aspirant for civil services, was detained by Aligarh police on Sunday after he approached Vishwa Hindu Parishad’s (VHP) district level leader, Ram Kumar Arya, and claimed that “some Muslims from AMU were plotting Arya’s murder”.

Arya informed the police after he grew suspicious about the youth who had tried to impersonate himself by giving wrong credentials. The suspect was exposed after Arya checked his Aadhaar Card and found the name on it different from what the youth had initially claimed.

According to the VHP leader, the suspect initially identified himself as Amit Kumar, while his identity card stated it to be Krishna Kumar.

Police are verifying the youth’s antecedent and have also informed his family. No FIR was registered till the filing of this report.
