AirAsia India flight suffers bird hit in Ranchi, lands safely

NEW DELHI: AirAsia India’s Bengaluru-Ranchi flight landed safely at its destination on Friday after suffering bird hits on final approach. The Airbus A320 (VT-ATF), operating as I5-545, was hit by a flock of birds at 200 feet altitude, said sources.


“The aircraft landed safely. Inspection at the airport by the airline’s engineering did not reveal any damage to the engine.

No other abnormality was reported by the crew. The aircraft has been released for further flights,” said the official.
