Arrested by Chhattisgarh police: Two Odia diamond smugglers

 

Bhubaneswar: Two people from Odisha were captured by Chhattisgarh police for purportedly pirating precious stones worth Rs 20 lakh in Gariaband area. The denounced Odia jewel bootleggers have been recognized as Jokho Ram (56) and Vikas Majhi (25) of Nuapada locale. The jewel dealers were associated with sending the stones to different pieces of the nation.

Following up on a tip-off Manipur police directed attacks in Jadapadar town under the Mainpur police headquarters and captured the supposed bootleggers. Police have held onto 125 bits of precious stones of various sizes and a little gauging machine from the two. The valuation of the stones seized is around Rs 20 lakh.

Police said that the denounced were illicitly carrying the jewels from the precious stone rich belt of Gariabands Deobhog territory and selling those in various states across India through mediators.

In the wake of enlisting a body of evidence against the pair, police have propelled an examination concerning the issue. They are attempting to discover the assistants related with the captured pair.
