Arunachal Pradesh Governor suggests study on insurgency problems in Changlang, Tirap and Longding

Guwahati: Arunachal Pradesh Governor, B. D. Mishra asked the Security Advisor to the Arunachal Pradesh Government to study the ongoing insurgency problems in Changlang, Tirap and Longding (TCL) and advice the State Government to take necessary steps to counter it. Security Major General S.C. Mohanty called on the Governor of Arunachal Pradesh on Wednesday.

It was a courtesy call by Maj. Gen. Mohanty after joining the post.

In a statement Raj Bhawan stated the Governor shared his concerns about the safety and security of the people of the State, particularly in the Eastern districts of Changlang, Tirap and Longding. He asked the Security Advisor to study the on-going insurgency problems in TCL and advise the State Government to take necessary steps to counter it.

The Governor said that the well-being of every individual is important for the State. To that extent the militancy, which has adversely affected our people’s livelihood must be curbed. Steps must be initiated to ensure that extortion activities by the insurgents of the local population must stop at all cost, he stressed.
