Bhiwandi: Duo died while trying to save bike

BHIWANDI: Aquib Habib Shaikh (27), along with his friend, Siraj Ahmed Ali (25), died in the crash while trying to save his elder brother's motorcycle, parked on the fourth floor gallery. Residents said after BNMC staff, on learning about a portion crashing, had evacuated residents. But when they left, some residents, with friends, entered and started removing belongings.

Aquib, after dropping his parents and two sisters at another house, called friends, including Siraj, an auto driver. Aquib's elder brother, Aasif, who stays in Kuwait, also requested friends to help Aquib.

Abdul Aziz Sayyed (65), who helped Aquib, said his brother had bought the motorcycle with his first salary. Aquib worked in the accounts department of a private telecom company, while Aasif is a mechanic. The rescue team recovered the motorcycle.
