Bhiwandi: Trio reported to cops for puja near EVM room

BHIWANDI: Congress workers on Monday evening caught three people, including a businessman, performing havan in a car outside a Bhiwandi school where EVMs and VVPATs have been kept in a strongroom.


The party workers reported them to the police, fearing that political opponents were up to something nasty.

But the police, upon questioning the three, found that performing puja at the location had been a regular affair for them for over two decades, and let them go. "The spot is 150 metres from the scool," an officer said.
