Bhopal: To help the needy, Railways look to 'desi jugad'

BHOPAL: In order to offer food and water to migrant labourers travelling on Shramik trains in quick time, Bhopal division railwayemployees have opted for a ‘ desi jugad .


To provide maximum drinking water in minimum amoung of time during train stoppages, railway personnel are distributing referigerated water from a pipe connected with two different outlets.

Due to this, two bottles are getting filled simultaneously while maintaining physical distancing.

Large number of Shramik special trains are passing through Itarsi, Bhopal, Bina and Sant Hirdaram Nagar stations of Bhopal division. Due to the scorching heat, there is an even greater need fordrinking water.

With heavy traffic of Shramik trains at different stations of Bhopal division on Wednesday, staff of various departments of railway pitched in to serve food, drinking water and sherbet to the shramiks in the 44 degree summer, in a hygienic manner. Water is also distributed through earthen pot with the help of s funnel.

DRM Bhopal Uday Borwanker said that objective behind it is to provide maximum water to the travellers in quick time.

“These methods may appear small but the results are excellent. During such scorching summer cool water is the priority for travellers. We are providing you water bottles also but people demand for cool water. To help such people we provide it through water pipes connected with refrigerator,” said Borwanker.

He added that earthen pot is also helping travellers getting cool drinking water. “With the help of funnel water could be poured in much quick time,” said Borwanker.
