Bigg Boss 17's Soniya Bansal faces an online scam; gets dragged into a fraud of Rs 2 lakhs?

Celebrities are facing a surge in online scams, especially in the entertainment industry. Recently, there was news about someone pretending to be Akshay Kumar's employee offering fake jobs. A similar incident occurred with Bigg Boss 17 contestant Soniya Bansal , who almost lost 4 lakh rupees due to a fraudulent scheme.


Soniya gained attention as a surprise contestant on the show, despite her brief appearance, she has made a mark. In a distressing turn of events, Soniya was nearly a victim of an online scam . Fortunately, her alertness saved her from falling prey to the scam.


Expressing the same, Soniya shared, "I encountered a situation where an individual falsely claimed to represent me and received 4 lakh rupees in advance for a job that was never discussed. The organizer even insisted on sending 2 lakh rupees as an advance, despite my not receiving any money. They pressured me to accept the payment, which was sent to a different account number. It's alarming that they acquired my contact details through a mutual friend and deceived me by posing as legitimate."


She voiced her disappointment, stating, "It's disheartening to see someone misuse my name and trust for personal gain. I urge future collaborators to directly communicate with me or my manager to prevent falling victim to such scams. Being cautious and vigilant is crucial to safeguard our earnings from such deceitful individuals."


She further said, "Scammers succeed by appearing genuine and catching you off guard. They exploit advancements in technology, products, services, and significant events to craft convincing narratives that persuade you to disclose money or personal information."
