Bihar: Two police officers shot dead by criminals in Saran district

Saran: Two policemen have been killed and another injured as criminals allegedly opened fire on the cops near Marhaura bus stand in Chapra area of Saran district in Bihar.

The deceased have been identified as sub-inspector Mithlesh Kumar Shah and constable Mohammad Afroz. The two officers were posted with the Special Investigation Team (SIT) in Chapra.

The chaos spread when all of a sudden sound of gunshots were heard near the bus stand. Later it was found that the two policemen were shot dead by criminals, while a constable Rajnish was injured in the firing.

According to the reports, the firing began when the SIT officers were conducting a probe into a case.

The entire Marhoura market has been on lockdown as heavy police forces deployed in the area. Police are still clueless as to who was behind the attack.
