Blasters clinch cricket trophy

Visakhapatnam: Amjad scored 74 to lead Central zone Blasters to a five-wicket win over South zone Royals in the final of the Divyang cricket tournament at the ACA-VDCA stadium on Tuesday.

Brief scores (final): South zone Royals 176/6 in 20 overs (Akhil Reddy 49, Roshi 42) lost to Central zone Blasters 179/5 in 17.4 overs (Amjad 74).

Silver for Vamsimohan

Velivela Vamsimohan, Junior Assistant at the ZP High School, Unguturu won silver medal in the discus throw event at the 43rd National Masters athletics

championship in Mumbai from April 24 to 27.

Sujit Somasundar visits camp

Head (education) of the NCA and a former Indian cricketer Sujith Somasundar visited the NCA girls U-15 camp at the Anantapur Sports Village. The camp is being organised by ACA, RDT and ADCA. He explained to the players how to handle match pressure. Somasundar watched the fitness sessions and inspected the accommodation, food and other amenities being provided to the girls. He met Rural Development Trust progamme director Mancho Ferrer and thanked him for extending support to the camp. RDT director P Sai Krishna, ADCA secretary K Madhu Achari and former Ranji cricketer KS Shahabuddin were also present.
