Bride feigns illness to elope with lover from hospital
KANPUR: In a situation one can see only in a Bollywood movie, a bride got herself admitted to a hospital on pretext of illness and then eloped with her lover on Valentine’s Day in Tirwa Kotwali police area of Kannauj district .
The girl was to get married to a youth hailing from Bela town of Auraiya on Thursday.
However, the girl had other plans in her mind.
On Wednesday evening, the girl refused to participate in pre-wedding functions over the pretext of illness. She complained of severe stomach-ache and asked her family members to get her admitted to a hospital. “Subsequently, the girl was taken to Tirwa medical college for treatment. She, thereafter, eloped with her alleged boyfriend in early hours of Thursday,” said inspector Kotwali TP Verma.
Following the incident, the groom’s family, feeling betrayed, accused the girl’s parents of concealing the matter. “A brawl type of situation occurred, but was prevented following immediate intervention of elders from both the sides,” said village sources. “No complaint was filed from the either sides as they finally reached a compromise,” said inspector Verma.
