British-Italian Brand is Selling Jeans With 'Pee Stain' For ₹ 50,000; Internet Asks Why?

Luxury fashion brands are often celebrated for their boundary-pushing and innovative ideas, but with innovation comes a price tag that can sometimes seem outrageous to the average consumer. Recent examples of this trend have gone viral online, such as the Dolce & Gabbana "Khaki Ski Mask Cap," priced at a staggering ₹32,000, and the Hugo Boss flip-flops, retailing for ₹9,000.

Now, a British-Italian brand has taken this trend to new heights by introducing jeans adorned with what appears to be a simulated pee stain, further fueling the debate on the value and limits of luxury fashion.

The distinctive denim creation, dubbed "Stain Stonewash Jeans," is the brainchild of Jordanluca, the fashion label established by designers Luca Marchetto and Jordan Bowen. This avant-garde piece made its debut on the runway during their fall/winter 2023 collection showcase. Notably, these jeans feature a prominent dark stain in the groyne area, creating the illusion of urine marks. The original iteration of these jeans commands a hefty price tag of ₹ $811 (approximately R 67,6000). Remarkably, the lighter wash version, which is currently sold out, carries an even more eye-watering price of $608 (Rs 50,000 approximately).

Describing the jeans, the brand wrote, "The Stain jeans feature a stonewash stain on the crotch and the Demonology horn detail embroidered on each back pocket, making them the ultimate JORDANLUCA denim piece. The jeans are high-rise with a tapered leg, ensuring a perfect fit."

Dubbed "pee stain denim" due to widespread online criticism, these peculiar jeans have sparked a flurry of disbelief on social media platforms.

A user wrote, "It's 2024 so why should anybody be surprised that " pee stain denim" is a thing?" "Those are expensive. Couldn't people just make their own by pissing their pants?" a person wrote. "Why would anyone wear this?" a user added. A third added, "You ain't cool unless you pee your pants." "Another 'just when you think you've seen it all' moment," added another X user. A user said, "I had tons of these in first grade. Who knew they'd be with money one day."
