BSP in Rajasthan to contest on 25 seats while CPI(M) on 3 seats

Jaipur: BSP supremo Mayawati has given a nod to field party’s candidates in all the 25 Lok Sabha seats across the state, while the Rajasthan unit of communist party of India (CPI-M) is likely to contest on three seats including Sikar, Bikaner and Churu.

Both parties are planning to highlight Congress’ failure to fulfil the promise of full farm loan waivers.

Against BJP they will capitalize on the issues including unemployment, demonetization and faulty policy of Narendra Modi-led BJP government.

Amraram, secretary, CPI (M), talking to TOI on Monday, said, “ We will have a meeting on March, 15 when final announcement would be made. However, contesting elections from Sikar, Bikaner and Churu seat have been finalized so far.”

“Congress came to power in Rajasthan with a promise to implement full loan waivers which has not been done so far. There are many ifs and buts along with different conditions in the loan waiver formula. Also those who took loans through Kisan credit card have not been put in the category of loan waiver,” said Amraram.

He added that people are fed up with the BJP government for its faulty economic policy including demonetization and GST. “Also the policies are totally against farmers and agricultural growth in the country,” he added.

Meanwhile, Sitaram Meghwal, the state president of BSP said that party supremo Mayawati had already given nod to field candidates on 25 seats. “We are chalking out our plan and will soon come up with the list of candidates,” Meghwal added.
