Calangute police bust sex racket

Calangute police on Saturday busted a prostitution racket after a pimp was caught red-handed with two women meant for customers.

Calangute PI, Nolasco Raposo, said that his team conducted a raid near Calangute market on Saturday after a tip-off, and apprehended Shabbir Ahmed, 31, a resident of Ektanagar, Mapusa.

Police said the racket was being operated by Ahmed and absconding Anurag Reha. Ahmed was remanded in five days’ police custody by judicial magistrate first class (JMFC), Mapusa. TNN
