Earlier on Sunday, Matheesha Pathirana and the age-defying MS Dhoni emerged as the heroes for CSK in a thrilling clash between CSK and Mumbai Indians (MI). Despite Rohit Sharma 's stellar unbeaten century for MI, CSK secured victory by 20 runs.

Dhoni's blitzkrieg in the final over, where he smashed three consecutive sixes off Hardik Pandya , propelled CSK to a formidable total of 206 for four. Pathirana's superb bowling performance, claiming 4 for 28, further thwarted MI's chase, restricting them to 186 for six.

Rohit's magnificent century, only his second in the IPL and first since 2012, showcased his class as he struck 11 fours and five sixes during his 63-ball innings.
