Catherine Zeta-Jones supports lookalike son with Michael Douglas' exciting new project

Catherine Zeta-Jones and Michael Douglas' son Dylan has a new project in the works, and his famous mum couldn't be prouder.

The aspiring actor, 23, took to Instagram

this week to tease some backstage rehearsals for his upcoming play.

In the first image, the handsome actor smiled roguishly at the camera, sporting messy hair and a white-knitted jumper.

In the comments, Catherine wrote: "So good. So happy I could get to see you in the play."

Catherine, 54, and Michael, 79, have been married since 2000 and also share daughter daughter Carys, 20, together.

Michael also has a son, Cameron, 45, from his previous marriage to Diandra Luker.

Dylan's gallery of images showed him workshopping the play and some deep chats with his co-stars.

Among them was Russian-American actor Andrey Burkovsky, who posted his own collection of pics to give a little more insight.

"Workshop 'Seagull. Variations.' As my character says: 'Wow. So exciting!!!'," he said in the caption.

"'And that's just a rehearsal...' Love u all. See you very very soon."

Dylan's sister Carys also shared her appreciation, penning: "So proud of you Dylan!!"

And a fan of the famous family replied: "Looking like young Micheal Douglas and Grandpa Kirk Douglas at the same time. Handsome young man you came from good stock. Catherine's a beauty as well."

Last week, Catherine used social media to pen another supportive message, this time to Kate, Princess of Wales, following her cancer diagnosis.

Alongside a stunning picture of the Duchess of Cambridge, she wrote: "Wales and the World is with you. HRH Princess of Wales. Love to you always."
