CBI posers face more complaints

AHMEDABAD: Two more complaints were lodged about a week ago against a couple — Maulik Dongresiya and his wife Hetal — who identified themselves as officers from Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) and cheated several people of lakhs on the pretext of getting them a job in the metro rail project.



Two persons from Modasa have come forward and alleged that they have been cheated by the couple in the pretext of getting them government jobs.

Till now five offences of similar nature have been lodged against the couple.

According to police sources, Dongresiya, who identified himself as a CBI officer had offered two youths to get them jobs as junior engineer and computer operator in the metro rail project and took Rs 9 lakh from them. When the youths didn’t get their money back, they lodged a complaint with Nilol police.

Earlier, two residents of Aravalli district — Rameshchandra Patel and Kirit Patel — lodged a complaint at Nikol Police station stating that between October 12, 2017 and November 20, 2017, Dongresiya and Hetal, residents of Aashirwad Avenue in New Naroda, cheated them of Rs 28 lakh by promising to get them class one government jobs. “The couple took Rs 23 lakh from Rameshchandra and Rs 5.50 lakh from Kirit Patel,” said a senior Nikol police official.

On Saturday, one Kamlesh Patel, a resident of Modasa in Aravalli district, approached Nikol police and lodged a complaint against Dongresiya and his wife that they took Rs 5.60 lakh from him on the pretext of getting his son a government job.

“According to the FIR, Maulik had introduced himself as a senior government officer and promised to get a good government job for his son,” added a senior police official of Nikol police station.

Police sources said that more people are likely to come forward to lodge complaints against the couple as the duo had cheated several persons by promising them government jobs. “Most of the victims belong to North Gujarat ,” said a police official.
