Chandigarh: 334 complaints recieved on cVIGIL app

CHANDIGARH: Haryana Joint Chief Electoral Officer, Inder Jeet said on Sunday that 342 complaints related to the violation of Model Code of Conduct in the state, have been received on cVIGIL App till 5.30 pm ( March 24), of which 334 complaints have been redressed within the prescribed time. Only eight complaints are pending which would also be redressed soon.



He said that despite of not many election activities in the state, the people are ensuring their participation in the system through cVIGIL mobile app. Thirty-one complaints have been received on cVIGIL app from district Ambala, 24 from district Bhiwani, 38 from district Faridabad , 15 from district Fatehabad, 35 from district Gurugram, 21 from district Hisar, 20 from district Jhajjar, seven from district Jind , seven from district Kaithal, 44 from district Karnal , eight from district Kurukshetra, three from district Mahendergarh, six from district Mewat, one from district Palwal, 18 from district Panchkula, four from district Panipat , nine from district Rewari, 14 from district Rohtak, 15 from district Sirsa, 12 from district Sonipat and 10 from district Yamunanagar.

Dr Inder Jeet said that this time, the Election Commission of India has ensured participation of general public through cVIGIL app for strict compliance of Model Code of Conduct in the General Elections to Lok Sabha-2019 and for ensuring no violation of Model Code of Conduct.

He said that through this latest mobile application, the citizens can directly report the complaints related to violation of Model Code of Conduct. They can upload related picture or two-minute video on the app. Within 20 minutes after the registration of the complaint, the concerned team would reach the location and efforts would be made redress the complaint within 100-minutes. He said that cVIGIL app could be downloaded on both Android and Apple phones.
