Chiranjeevi expresses gratitude post Padma Vibhushan honor

In a prestigious ceremony held at Rashtrapati Bhavan on May 9, 2024, celebrated South Indian cinema icon, megastar Chiranjeevi was honoured with the Padma Vibhushan , India’s second-highest civilian award . The awards were presented by President Droupadi Murmu , recognizing his significant contributions to the film industry.


The Civilian Decorations Ceremony, an annual event, saw various distinguished personalities receive honours ranging from Padma Vibhushan to Padma Shri. This year's ceremony was particularly notable for the film industry due to the recognition of two of its most influential figures. Alongside Chiranjeevi, Bollywood actress Vyjayanthimala also received the same.

Chiranjeevi, after receiving his award, took to X (formerly known as Twitter) to express his gratitude towards his fans and the art community for their continuous support over the years.

He wrote, which loosely translates into English, "To Kalamatalli, to everyone who supported me in the field of art, to all those who loved and admired me, to the central government who gave me the Padma Vibhushan award, to those who congratulated me on this occasion, my salutations".


His message conveyed heartfelt thanks and shared congratulations with his fellow awardees, reflecting his humility and dedication to his work.

The ceremony was a family affair for Chiranjeevi, attended by his wife Surekha, son Ram Charan, daughter-in-law Upasana, and daughter Sushmitha, all of whom shared in the celebration of his achievement.
