CM should stay in Panaji to know people's plight:AAP

Panaji: Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) asked chief minister Pramod Sawant to stay in Panaji at his official residence for a couple of days to know the plight of the people who were suffering since the last six days due to the state’s water crisis. AAP has threatened to come on the streets if water supply is not restored by Wednesday evening.

The government has shown that it is insensitive to the sufferings of the people, said Valmiki Naik. “There are some ‘khaas aadmi’ of the government for whom there was no problem”, he said

Naik said that Sawant had failed to provide relief to the people and shown complete inefficiency and that he should have used the disaster management authority to tackle the issue “ ESMA was used to frighten the taxi operators. But you couldn’t use any law to provide relief to the aam aadmi”, he said

Naik said that Sawant and the PWD minister had been giving assurance of restoring supply but the officials on the ground were unofficially saying that it would take a longer time. MLAs’ office arranges tankers but the government can’t, he said.
