Committee to allow permission for big event in Uttarakhand: High Court

Dehradun: The public interest litigation filed in the case of the royal wedding of two hundred crores of Gupta brothers was held in the Nainital High Court of Uttarakhand state today at Auli Bugyal, popular snowflake center of Chamoli city. Thereafter, the court has said that a committee under the chairmanship of the tourism secretary should be formed in order to consider the consent of such a function, which will control the environment and monitor its activities.

After hearing the entire case before the bench of Justice Sudhanshu Dhulia and Justice RC Khulbe, the decision was reserved. According to the entire case, advocate Rakshit Joshi had filed a PIL in the High Court. In which he said, for the royal wedding that took place in Auli from 18 to 20 June 2019, marriage was agreed on behalf of the government in Auli Bugyal. The environment is sure to be damaged.

The petition demanded the government to give consent against the law and take action against the accused. In the case, the court ordered the Gupta family to deposit three crores to compensate for the damage to the environment. Due to the hearing in the court, Auli was angry about the mess. After which the government defended itself and said, Auli is not Bugyal. On which the court sought answers from Wadia Institute, GB Pant, Himalayan Institute, Forest Research Institute, and NIM Nehru Institute of Mountain Institutes in this regard. In which it was asked whether Auli is Bugyal or not. The court has made it clear in the order that the coordination between tourism and the environment should be kept and this is very important.
