Computer teachers protest against Haryana government in Panchkula

PANCHKULA: Members of Haryana Karmik Sangh ( employees union ) and several teachers associations staged a protest against the state government in Sector 5, Panchkula on Thursday.


The protesters including Computer Teacher Welfare Association and all Karmik Sangh members gathered in Panchkula and sloganeered against the state government demanding permanent jobs in the department and pay hike among others.



The computer teacher association members started their protest outside the Shiksha Bhawan in Sector 5 while the Karmik Sangh members started marching towards Housing Board chowk to enter Chandigarh and to protest in front of Haryana chief minister residence at around 1 pm.

Cops stopped the protesters to enter the Shiksha Sadan premises while both the police parties of Chandigarh and Panchkula stopped the protesters from entering Chandigarh. Due to the protest, the commuters had to use alternate ways as the traffic was diverted through Mauli Jagran roundabout.

A delegation of protesters also met the senior officials of the Haryana government who asked them to wait till Monday.
