Congress hits out at MLA Aditi Singh for meeting CM Yogi Adityanath

Lucknow: Uttar Pradesh Congress chief Ajay Kumar Lallu came down heavily on party MLA Aditi Singh for holding a meeting with Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath yesterday. He said that a notice has been issued to her and if she refuses to reply to it, further action will be taken against her.

While speaking to media about Aditi Singh's meeting with Adityanath, Ajay Kumar Lallu said, "People who think of self-interest and have no ideology can go anywhere.

We have issued a notice to her. If there is no reply, further action will be taken."

Earlier on Thursday, Aditi Singh met the UP CM and asserted that the meeting was related to developmental works in her Raebareli Sadar constituency.

"I had taken an appointment with the Chief Minister for Thursday. He usually gives time to MLAs on this day in the week. I came to meet him in connection with the work of my constituency," said Aditi Singh.

This has come a couple of weeks after the Congress MLA was issued a show-cause notice by the party for attending a special Assembly session on October 2, despite Congress clearly stating that it will boycott the session. Singh not only participated in the session but also addressed the Assembly.

Talking about the show-cause notice, Aditi Singh had said, "I took the decision to go to the Assembly session because Uttar Pradesh qualifies for 16 of the 17 sustainable development goals set by the United Nations. I wanted to talk about it. I wanted to talk about development."
