CPI's Ghosi candidate mocks Modi and rivals

GHOSI: The soaring mercury no deterrent, scores of CPI supporters armed with the communist flag gathered at Rakali in Ghosi early in the day. At precisely 9.45am, national secretary of the party and Ghosi candidate Atul Kumar Singh 'Anjan' joined them in a vehicle and a daylong procession began.

Anjan, also the national general secretary of the All India Kisan Sabha, is among the 11 candidates that the Left party has fielded in the state.

TOI caught up with him before he embarked on his hectic schedule and followed him through various pockets of the parliamentary seat, including Rekawaridih, Ravirpur Sariya, Pipridih, Parwachatti and Madhuban. The candidate mostly met farmers, but also mingled with young voters. At Parwachatti, he addressed a gathering of 200 farmers and used the opportunity to lash out at the PM.

Anjan mocked Modi , saying he infused nationalism by wearing a suit with his name written on it.

"I have never seen such a PM." Targeting the BJP in the same breath, the CPI leader said: "The party can do anything to retain power. It can forget promises or label a patriot a traitor). Anjan didn't spare his rivals in the fray either. "One of my opponents is facing sexual harassment allegations (Atul Rai of BSP) while the sitting MP (BJP's Harinarayan Rajbhar ) has not been able to develop Ghosi in five years. People can't be fooled again," he said.
