Criminal wanted in Delhi, Bihar held

GURUGRAM: A gangster wanted in more than 14 cases of robbery, loot and bomb making was arrested on Monday afternoon. The criminal, Ahmed Raja alias Javed, was nabbed from Bristol Chowk by a police team.


According to police, Raja has a reward of Rs 1 lakh on his head announced by the Delhi government, while Bihar police had put a reward of Rs 25,000.



The gangster is a native of Bihar’s Madhubani and is known for his criminal activities since 1997.

According to sources, in one of his most recent crimes, Gurugram police was looking for him for carrying illegal arms and a case was registered at DLF 1 police station. After the arrest, police have recovered a country-made pistol and a live cartridge from his possession.

While addressing the media, the ACP (crime) said that during the interrogation , they found out that Raja is wanted in several cases in Delhi and Bihar.

“He has also spent 27 months in Darbhanga Jail. He had been awarded ten years but he came out on a bail,” he added. The ACP said that he used to give fake names at the time of arrests in order to avoid further punishment. During his interrogation, he revealed that he has studied till Class 12 and has a family with four children in Bihar.

Police said they are still inquiring about his involvement in other cases and accomplices. He was produced in a court on Tuesday which sent him to police custody.
