Cusat students secure internship at top institutes

Kochi: Students of five-year integrated MSc computer science (artificial intelligence and data science) at Cusat have received internship offers from top-tier national institutes across the country and abroad. There are currently two batches for the master’s programme with a combined strength of 40 students. Of this 23 students have received internship offers from top institutes in India and abroad.

Eleven students are placed as interns at various Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs), four students have received internship offers from Indian Institute of Space Science and Technology (IIST), two are placed as intern at Indian Institutes of Science Education and Research (IISERs), one at a National Institute of Technology (NIT), and a student has been selected for internship at Queen’s University, UK. Three students have also received offers from prominent software firms in the country.

Computer science department head Madhu S Nair said, “This is for the first time so many of our students are getting placed in top-tier universities as interns. This reassures that the training provided from the department is top notch,” said Nair.
