DC Kupwara reviews Apple procurement process

Deputy Commissioner Kupwara, Anshul Garg today convened a meeting of concerned officer to review the overall process for procurement of apple fruit produced in the district.The meeting was attended by Additional District Development Commissioner, Mohammed Ashraf Bhat, Additional Deputy Commissioner, Farooq Ahmad Baba, ACD,  Tehsildars, representatives of Horticulture, agriculture and other concerned.The meeting discussed various steps with regard to grading of apples in A, B and C grade, collection of fruits from orchards, price listing and other issues with regard to procurement process.On the occasion, Deputy Commissioner directed the officials of Agriculture and Horticulture department to work jointly and keep a close liaison with fruit growers of the district and ensure proper facilitation to the fruit growers during procurement process of fruits.

They were also asked to make proper grading of the fruits and ensure publication of price list of fruits. The revenue officers of the district were directed to monitor the overall process of procurement.The DC directed ACD to reach out to the fruit growers of the district through Sarpanches and Panches and make sure that all registered fruit growers of the district are covered under the scheme.In order to make the process of procurement easier and farmer friendly, the DDC nominated ADDC as Nodal Officer to monitor the whole process.

The ADDC was asked to constitute Tehsil Level Committees and submit the list of all fruit growers with proper authentication of Bank Account Numbers with ADHAAR seeding to the concerned, so that the payments should be made on time. During the discourse of the meeting, ARTO was asked to provide transport facility to the fruit growers, wherever required.
