The order has been issued in view of the southwest monsoon , which is at Goa’s doorstep.

The move is likely to come as a relief to motorists.

The ban on digging will apply to private agencies, government departments and semi-government undertakings. It also applies to civic bodies. During the three-month period, any digging or cutting of public roads and their shoulders, including all city and village roads, will require prior written permission from the collector.
