DK Shivakumar's supporters heckle Karnataka Deputy CM in Tumkur

Bengaluru: A local event turned into a nightmare for Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister CN Ashwath Narayan on Monday after he was confronted by supporters of arrested Congress leader DK Shivakumar. The incident happened in Tumkur where Narayan had gone to attend an event organised by the Vokkaliga community.

According to reports, Karnataka Deputy CM Narayan was cornered by DK Shivakumar's supporters who later raised slogans and heckled him. It should be noted that Narayan, former Karnataka CM HD Kumaraswamy, and DK Shivakumar belong to the same Vokkaliga community. At the event, both CN Ashwath Narayan and HD Kumaraswamy were present.

DK Shivakumar's supporters have been alleging that the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is behind the arrest of their leader. They are calling it "political vendetta" by Chief Minister BS Yediyurappa.

Earlier last week, Congress troubleshooter DK Shivakumar was arrested by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) in New Delhi in connection with a money laundering case. Ever since then both Congress and the BJP are taking potshots at each other for Shivakumar's arrest.
