Don't believe in exit polls, wait for October 24: Madhya Pradesh CM Kamal Nath

Bhopal: Chief minister Kamal Nath on Tuesday rejected the ‘one-sided’ exit poll results that predicted a majority for the BJP-led National Democratic Alliance (NDA) in the assembly elections for Maharashtra and Haryana. He also claimed that Congress will surely win Jhabua bypoll after the results are declared on October 24.



“I do not believe in the exit polls predicting one-sided victory. The reality will be out on October 24. So, let’s wait for the day,” Kamal Nath told reporters in New Delhi on Tuesday. Nath who was on a two-day visit to the national capital where he met Union home minister Amit Shah. He reached Bhopal on Tuesday afternoon.

Though the chief minister said that exit polls must be left for guessing, he predicted a clear win for the ruling Congress in the Jhabua bypoll. “We will surely win Jhabua bypoll on the basis of welfare undertaken in last 10 months,” Nath said.

While Congress has stated that it would emerge victor in Jhabua, the BJP has planned grand celebrations for wins in Maharashtra and Haryana assembly elections. BJP leaders said that people have full faith in the policies of the government led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi while also claiming that Congress has lost its confidence.

“People ask us when we are going to topple the Congress government in Madhya Pradesh. But we have made it clear that we are not willing to topple any government. We are here to help those who want development and welfare. People have full faith in PM Modi and the coming election results will again bring BJP at the helm of politics in the two states,” said Union minister Thawar Chand Gehlot in Shajapur on Tuesday.
