Dragon's Dogma 2 patch notes make Dragonsplauge easier to spot – and I think that's a huge shame
Capcom has released another patch for Dragon's Dogma 2, with some changes to pawn behaviour and the Dragonsplague mechanic headlining the update.
Dragon's Dogma 2 is a sure-fire contender for the best game of 2024 but that doesn't mean it launched without any issues. As is common with almost any gargantuan open-world game, there were more than a few bugs to iron out (see:
That trend continues with this latest patch, but sadly Capcom also listens to the people who are wrong, as evidenced by today's massive nerf to Dragonsplague. For those unaware, Dragonsplauge is a disease your pawns can catch, and if left untreated will cause them to nuke an entire area, killing all NPCs therein, and can potentially cause you to be locked out of certain sidequests – and I absolutely love it. This latest patch lessens its effect by reducing the infection frequency and making the symptoms a bit more noticeable.
Also mentioned in the Dragon's Dogma 2 patch notes are some changes to pawn behaviour, with fixes including a reduced rate of pawns launching themselves off of cliffs and dying, as well as the frequency with which roaming pawns come up to you and beg for a space in your party. Plus, Capcom has included the most important update to the pawns – fixing the issue where the high five wouldn't work at times. No more feeling mortified at leaving them hanging.

And that's everything in today's Dragon's Dogma 2 patch. It's disappointing that Capcom don't go a bit more in-depth with these, and instead hit us with the "Miscellaneous bug fixes" line, but at least they're concise I guess.
