Commentary
  • That concludes the proceedings for this damp day. On Tuesday, 25th October, Australia will be in action - trying to bounce back after their humiliating loss. They will meet Sri Lanka in Perth at 4.30 pm IST (11 am GMT). Do join us in advance for all the coverage. Cheers!
  • Earlier, this match was reduced to 9-overs-per-side after all the delay at the beginning and then in the second innings, the target was readjusted to 64 runs off 7 overs but even that was not possible. South Africa were off to the best possible start. Quinton de Kock went all guns blazing as South Africa cruised to 40-0 after two overs. With rain interrupting the game again, the target was revised. South Africa were just 13 runs away from victory but more rain ensured that no more play was possible. Zimbabwe will be feeling lucky to get a point from this encounter as otherwise, the way they bowled, South Africa were en route to demolish the target.
  • THE MATCH IS CALLED OFF! Points shared. The umpires tried their best but you cannot fight nature. The correct decision is made and both teams get a point each. We were very lucky up until this point in the tournament to get plenty of action against the forecast but that's not the case anymore.
  • Update 5.37 pm IST (12.07 pm GMT) - It's pelting down now and the umpires have decided to take the players off the field. They have 8 minutes to return to the field, otherwise, the points will be shared. South Africa will be very disappointed, their luck with rain continues to haunt them, especially in the ICC events.

Sikandar Raza to Quinton de Kock, Full and floated outside off, de Kock slices it behind backward point. The outfield is heavy and the ball doesn't have the speed to cross the fence. The batters take three runs.

Sikandar Raza to Quinton de Kock, Shout for an lbw, the finger stays down! Fuller and around middle, skidding in, de Kock goes down to play the slog sweep but fails to connect. He is rapped on the pads, they appeal but nothing from the umpire. Zimbabwe opt to review it, and this will help them in killing some time if the rain gods decide to come again. DRS time. UltraEdge shows no bat and the Ball Tracking shows that it's clipping the leg stump. Umpire's call. Quinton de Kock had started to walk off after seeing the replays on the giant screen but then returns.
  • Review! Zimbabwe have taken a review for an LBW decision against Quinton de Kock.

  • Update 5.13 pm IST (11.43 am GMT) - It is pouring down now and the umpires have given instructions to leave the field. South Africa are in a good position to win the game, but if they don't return to the field in the next few minutes, consider this game to end without any result.
