Attack on non-local fruit merchant : At SMHS, a local from Shopian sets new example of humanity
Meet Parvaiz Ahmed, a local resident of South Kashmir’s Shopian district, who tried his level best to save two non-local apple merchants who were shot at by the unidentified gunmen on October 16.Of the two injured non-locals died and another was shifted to SMHS hospital Srinagar by none other than Parvaiz, who has an old bond with the one who lost battle with life and the one who is battling for life at SMHS hospital, Srinagar.Sanjay Charaya, 25, a resident from Punjab, is an apple merchant and was hit by several bullets on October 16 at Trenz, Baba Khader, Shopian at around 7:15 pm on October 16.
Subash, uncle of injured Sanjay, said that they have no words to thank Parvaiz as he is bearing all the treatment expenses. “He has been with us since October 16,” he said. “It is Parvaiz, who informed us about Sanjay’s injury.” At the hospital, Sanjay’s father Jaspal Charya and his brother in law Rashu were also present, who stated that had there been no restoration of mobile phones in Kashmir, they would not have been able to come to know about Sanjay’s injury in the attack.Narrating the whole incident to KNO, Parvaiz said that “Sanjay was left unattended for about 10 minutes after being shot by unknown gunmen, as he was shot on his arm and on right chest cavity, and later on he was taken to the nearby hospital, by the two locals which were unknown for me. As he was left on the mercy of God for more than 10 minutes, whereas the fruit laden truck was set ablaze by the unknown gunmen.”The family members of Sanjay said that local merchant Parvaiz came as their savior at the venue with the help of two other locals as they took Sanjay to the hospital (KNO).
