Cristhian Mosquera breaks silence after Arsenal transfer agreement reached

Cristhian Mosquera has remained tight-lipped about where his future lies, as Arsenal close in on a deal to sign the Valencia defender.

On Monday, football.london reported thatthe Gunners are expected to unveil the Spanish youth international later this week after reaching an agreement with the La Liga outfit. Valencia reputedly wanted around £17m to part company with the 21-year-old.

However, it is claimed that Arsenal have managed to lower the price below £15m.

The Spaniard is expected to link up with Mikel Arteta and Co ahead of their pre-season tour of Singapore and Hong Kong.

Mosquera, who paused to interact with fans from inside his car, was filmed by

" rel="Follow" target="_self">Radio Marca Valencia. The youngster admitted he felt sad to leave his 'home.'

"It will always be [my home]," he told the Spanish radio station. "I arrived here at the age of 12, and well, I’m leaving now as a man.

"I’m a little bit sad because I’ve been here all my life but this is football. It’s a new chapter and let’s continue."

When asked about where his next challenge would lie, Mosquera remained tight-lipped.

"I prefer the club announces it first and then...," he added.

The defender was then quizzed about whether he was happy with his new chapter in his career.

Once again, he kept his cards close to his chest, stating: "It’s exciting but I leave here feeling sad."

Mosquera is seen as the ideal addition to challenge for a spot alongside William Salibaand Gabriel Magalhaes.

The 21-year-old has cemented his place at the core of Valencia’s defence, making 36 La Liga appearances in the 2023/24 season and 37 in 2024/25.

Mosquera has featured for Spain at every youth level, from the Under-15s through to the U23s. So far this summer, the Gunners have secured the signings ofKepa Arrizabalaga, Martin Zubimendi, and Christian Norgaard.
