One of the low-key romances was with Anushka Sharma, whom Ranbir had worked with in Ae Dil Hai Mushkil (2016). Even though they shared screen space in a film, their off-screen relationship was the subject of gossip. Ranbir humorously confessed in an interview that he had had a crush on Anushka but she had “friend-zoned” him. With a smile, he went on, “Well, I know this one fellow who, in a good friendship, fell in love with her… his last name also Kapoor.”
