Monday Blues Hit Vishnu Manchu's Kannappa Hard: Box Office Collection Crashes on Day 4
Following a promising start, Vishnu Manchu’s mythological drama Kannappa has run into trouble at the box office, with collections plunging sharply on Monday. Produced and released on June 27 with much hype, the film delivered a decent weekend but saw a steep fall at the beginning of the week an important time for box office viability.
Box Office Performance So Far
Kannappa started well with ₹9.35 crore on Day 1, then ₹7.15 crore on Saturday and ₹6.9 crore on Sunday. But Monday collections sank to ₹2.50 crore, more than half the collections the day before. The four-day running total is now at ₹25.90 crore, according to figures provided by Sacnilk. As weekday momentum falters, the theatrical run of the film may be under threat unless it picks up soon.
Day 1: ₹9.35 crore
Day 2: ₹7.15 crore
Day 3: ₹6.9 crore
Day 4: ₹2.50 crore
Total: ₹25.90 crore
Piracy Strikes the Movie Hard
To make matters worse for the movie, Vishnu Manchu shared on X (formerly Twitter) that Kannappa is fighting piracy. “More than 30,000 pirated links have already been removed,” he posted, terming piracy “heartbreaking” and requesting fans to support cinema legally.

Star-Studded Cast and Mixed Reviews
Kannappa is a film directed by Mukesh Kumar Singh and written by Vishnu Manchu, based on the legend of a faithful devotee of Lord Shiva. With a sturdy cast, featuring cameos by Prabhas, Mohanlal, Akshay Kumar, and Kajal Aggarwal, the film received mixed responses, with criticism mostly leveled at its visual effects.
The next few days will make all the difference in deciding if Kannappa is able to maintain its box office stay or fizzle out too early.
