There is news for the candidates who have cleared the preliminary examination of UPSC CSE 2025. Union Public Service Commission i.e. UPSC has opened the Detailed Application Form (DAF-I) window for the candidates who have passed the Civil Services Preliminary Examination 2025. This form is important because only the candidates who submit it will be allowed to appear in the main examination. DAF-I has to be filled online on the official website upsc.gov.in between June 16 and June 25, 2025.

Candidates have to enter their personal, educational and other details, upload documents and choose their service preferences. Let us tell you that the UPSC Main Exam is going to start on 22 August 2025.

What is UPSC DAF‑I Form?

DAF‑I (Detailed Application Form-1) is the step after the preliminary examination, which is necessary to finalize the candidature for the main exam. It includes provisions for personal details, education, employment history, document upload, service priorities and PwBD/Scribe requirements.

How to fill DAF‑I form?

Candidates who will appear in UPSC CSE Main Exam can fill DAF-I by following the steps given below:

  • First of all, candidates go to the official website of UPSC and log in using their One Time Registration (OTR) credentials - this includes your registration ID and date of birth.
  • After this, the candidates fill their form. Fill in personal details, education details, family details, employment record, document upload and service priorities.
  • After this, the candidates should pay the fee.
  • After this, the candidates should check the form once and then submit it.
  • After this, the candidates should download a confirmation page and then take a copy of it.
