Taking another big step towards Digital India, now children will also be able to make payments through UPI, that too without their bank account. The new feature UPI Circle introduced by the National Payments Corporation of India (NPCI) is now available on apps like Google Pay and BHIM, which allows parents to make limited and secure digital payments to their children.

Under this feature, parents can link their bank account to the children's mobile app. Children can make payments by scanning the QR code, but they neither get bank account information nor UPI PIN is required. This gives parents full control over every transaction.

UPICircle provides two types of access - Partial Delegation and Full Delegation. In Partial Delegation, parental approval is required for every payment, while in Full Delegation, children can make payments on their own up to a limited amount. This feature is specially designed for children below 15 years of age, who do not have their own bank account.
