Ekta Kapoor achieved a remarkable milestone by being the first Indian recipient of the International Emmy Directorate Award. At the World Television Festival of the 51st International Emmy Awards in 2023, she was presented with the prize.
Ekta said while receiving, "I think art and writing and storytelling have a far bigger impact than we gave it credit.

It's okay to take a moment to realign and rework your approach. However, from that point on, you have to keep moving forward. Standing still and feeling sorry for yourself will accomplish nothing; the only way from the bottom is up."
Ekta shared her happiness on Instagram with a video. She wrote, "India I’m bringing home YOUR Emmy ."

Shefali Shah was nominated for Best Actress award for her work in Delhi Crime Season 2 but she lost to Karla Souza who won this category for her film La Caida (Dive).
Shefali Shah paid tribute to Indian fashion during the International Emmy Awards 2023 inaugural cocktail hour by donning a stunning outfit by JJ Valaya. She wore a floor-length gown with a long, embroidered cloak that was covered in the designer's trademark chevron leaf motifs.
The actress had shared the news of her nomination a few days ago. She wrote, “OMGGGGG I still can’t believe it. Feel so so honoured to be nominated at the International Emmys alongside such esteemed artists. This one is really special and more so because it is for a character I am very very close to, Vartika Chaturvedi and for my favourite show #DelhiCrime2. This is for all of us in #DelhiCrime.”
Shefali was nominated in the same category as the Danish program Drommeren's Connie Nielsen, the British program I Hate Suzie Too's Billie Piper, and the Mexican program La Caida's Karla Souza.
