Love Island Games S2: Garbi and Josh survive an intense duel

is getting more intense week by week. In episode 14, which aired on September 30, the villa faced tough challenges, and new eliminations changed the game. On top of that, one Islander’s journey ended suddenly due to an injury during the duels. Here’s what happened.

The duel that shook the villa

Following episode 13’s team challenge, four Islanders were chosen to compete in a duel. The winning team, led by Gabby Allen and Johnny Middlebrooks, selected two boys and two girls from the losing team to compete against each other. 

The duel was set in a boxing-style ring with weighted balls placed along the midway line. The rules were simple: whoever had the most balls on their side at the end of the round lost. It was a best-of-three competition, testing both skill and strategy.

. Garbi took the lead by winning the first round. However, during the second round, an accident occurred, and Garbi accidentally tossed a ball at Nicola’s head, and she had to be checked by medics. 

Unable to continue, Nicola left the duel, giving Garbi a win by default. Host Ariana Madix reassured fans that Nicola was feeling better, but she did not return for the rest of the episode and missed saying goodbye to the other Islanders.

Josh Goldstein and Kendall Washington

The next match featured
alums Josh Goldstein and Kendall Washington. The match was very close. Josh won the first round, and the second round came down to the final seconds, with the two tossing a ball back and forth. 

In a tense finish, Josh managed to get the last ball over to Kendall’s side, securing his safety in the villa. Kendall left after saying goodbye to her partner, Garbi.

Who won the duel?

The winners of episode 14’s duels were Josh Goldstein and Garbi Denteh. Their victories ensured they remained in the villa, while Kendall and Nicola were made to leave, reshaping the dynamics of the season.

Couples and singles after episode 14

The current couples after the episode are Johnny Middlebrooks & Gabby Allen, Andrea Carmona & Josh Goldstein, Sydney Paight & Toby Aromolaran, Justine Ndiba & Tyrique Hyde, and Lucinda Strafford & Isaiah Campbell. The singles now are Garbi Denteh and Casey O’Gorman. These changes have set the stage for more drama and challenges in upcoming episodes.
