Sana Khan's mother dies after illness, funeral held in Mumbai

Former television actor Sana Khan announced on Tuesday that her mother, Saeeda, has passed away after battling a long-standing health issue. The announcement was made through an Instagram Story, where Sana shared the news with a brief message that reflected her grief and religious faith.

“Inna Lillahi wa inna ilayhi raji'un. My beloved mother Mrs. Saeeda has back returned to Allah after struggling with a bad health condition,” the actor wrote. Sana, known for her roles in Jai Ho!

and Special OPS, as well as her appearance in Bigg Boss 6, did not mention the exact medical condition or her mother’s age in the post.

Funeral conducted at Oshiwara Kabristan

Sana informed her followers that the namaz-e-janaza (funeral prayer) would be performed after the Isha prayer on Tuesday at the Oshiwara Kabristan. "Namaz-e-janaza will be performed at Oshiwara Qabrasthan after Isha salat @ 09.45. Your prayers for my mother will be helpful," her Instagram post read.

The burial took place as scheduled, with followers and well-wishers offering prayers and condolences on social media throughout the evening.

Close bond shared on social media

Sana Khan had often spoken about the bond she shared with her mother and posted several tributes on social media over the years. In a 2023 video, she was seen having her shoelaces tied by her mother, a moment she captioned with: “There is no love more honest and selfless than a mother’s love.”

That video, among others, served as a glimpse into their relationship, which Sana frequently acknowledged as a source of strength, particularly after her decision to leave the entertainment industry and pursue a religious life.
