The first season of The Traitors India was supposed to end on a high, but it spiralled into chaos the moment Karan Johar announced Uorfi Javed and Nikita Luther as the winners. While the duo walked away with the crown (and ₹70.5 lakh), the internet was not having it. Fans, clearly loyal to players like Purav Jha, Apoorva Mukhija, and Harsh Gujral, lost their minds.

Instead of fanfare, the finalists were met with fury. Reels started popping up left, right, and centre mocking the result. Viewers are saying things like, “How can Uorfi and Nikita beat Purav and Harsh? This smells rigged.” Brutal, unfiltered and relentless.

What should have been Uorfi’s big win turned into a digital nightmare. Shortly after the finale aired, she took to Instagram and posted a carousel of death and rape threats, vile messages, and slut-shaming abuse, all just because she won.

She wrote how it was not even about her fashion this time, but purely because she dared to win. According to Uorfi, people were furious that their “favourites” did not win, so they resorted to threats and hatred. She pointed out how the hate remains constant—whether she saves a contestant or eliminates one, people always have a problem.
Purav Jha reacts to the hate the winners are getting: “Do not spread hate”Purav Jha, who many thought would clinch the trophy, posted an emotional video of himself crying after reading fans' messages saying they were heartbroken he lost. But in a classy move, he also asked his fans not to spread hate or threaten the winners. He urged everyone to “spread love instead.”

In the game’s final twist, Uorfi and Nikita were revealed as innocents, while Harsh and Purav were traitors. But the shock did not stop there. After winning, Uorfi gave away her share of the prize money to Nikita, saying she played selflessly and deserved it more.
